Dance of Peace is beacon of light that inspires hope in a time of great adversity.

With inspiration taken from the Ukranian flag. I wanted to create a painting that symbolises people coming together to bring about peace. I initially ripped the canvas in half to illustrate the wound of Russia's war against Ukraine, before sewing it back together in an act of healing. The sun is a symbol of light and hope and is surrounded by dancing women, distorted in shape, who are using the movement of their sacred bodies to connect and heal. Climaxing with a vision of a woman turning into a peace dove and soaring into the light.

This painting is acrylic on calico and is a continuation of my polished concrete series, which represents individuals finding their flow in society.
